That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. a. That I may know Him: This was the simple plea of Paul’s heart. In the 13th verse of Philippians chapter 3, Paul writes that he is forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead. The expression ‘forgetting what lies behind’ has a definite reference to the past life of Paul. Forgetting though practically, very hard, simply means ‘ not to have remembrance of something’.Verse 8. - Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true.He repeats the "finally" of Philippians 2:1, He again and again prepares to close his Epistle, but cannot at once bid farewell to his beloved Philippians.He urges them to fill their thoughts with things good and holy.
