I would like to know if anyone can offer some assistance on dating this gun because I do not have much knowledge of the S&W brand. Serial number from the bottom of the handle is 929XXX. The serial number is on the heel of the grip frame. It's a pinned and recessed K-38 (pre model 10) probably made in the 1940's.
