Feb 24, 2022 · The University of Kansas Libraries will open a new exhibition in Watson Library’s Haricombe Gallery on March 10. “Sitting in a Circle” showcases the creative work and reflections generated by students and faculty as they engage with the 2021-22 KU Common Book, “Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teaching of Plants.” At this discussion, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about Parable of the Sower and brainstorm ways to integrate the book into their 2023-2024 courses. While there will be some discussion questions provided to facilitate conversation about the book, participants do not need to have read the book to attend.The Common Book plays an important role in the student’s first year, including a visit to campus by the author September 26-27.
