One of my favorite by McCarthy. It took me no less than 3 attempts to get through, but it was a thoroughly enjoyable book. And echoing many of the comments here, the villain is the ambassador of totally badassador. It's the most brutal story I have ever read. Cormac McCarthy is possibly the best living writer.
